Children are born ready, able and eager to learn. They actively reach out to interact with other people, and in the world around themo. Development is not an automatic process, however. It depends on each unique child having opportunities to interact in positive relationships and enabling environments – (EYFS 2012)
Bacton Under Fives was formed in 1979, starting as a Mother and Toddler Group and developing over the years into the daycare setting that we are proud of today. In April 2010 we moved into our present purpose-built Playcentre.
Bacton Under Fives offers a complete childcare package for families in our community.
Our youngest children are cared for in the Buds Room, our Toddlers are cared for in the Seedlings Room and our pre-school aged children are cared for in the Acorns Room. Before and After School care and Holiday care is also provided in our Oaks Room.
In January 2016 we launched our new Explorers groups. They are aimed at children aged 4 and under, their parents and carers. The groups runs every Wednesday and Friday during term-time. Click here for dates and more information.
We are open Monday to Friday 7.45am to 6.00pm during term time and 8am to 5.30pm during the school holidays.
We are closed on Bank Holidays and for one week at Christmas.
We are proud to have been awarded the Suffolk Quality Assurance Scheme Award and are also part of the Every Child a Talker (ECAT) scheme.
